BSSCO Projects

It all started in a small flat in London - an idea to do a church-based musical production of 'The Garden.' Conductor and Producer Philip Siu would wait over a year for that idea to become reality. The productions have only grown from there. Explore the BSSCO story and learn about our new project below.

'The Garden'

Watford LDS Chapel, April 20, 2013

The first formation of a choir and orchestra under the production of the BSSCO was to perform Michael McLean and Bryce Neuburt's 'The Garden,' an allegorical oratorio. 'The performance portrays a creative account of what some of the objects or elements of the Garden of Gethsemane might have shared with us, had they been able to tell their own story of their challenges and their witness...'

A cast of 25 YSA and an orchestra of 30 musicians, directed and produced by Philip Siu (music producer) and Maia Peacock (artistic director and choreographer), held two sold out performances.

Watford LDS Chapel, April 18-19, 2014

The BSSCO jumped straight into Rob Gardner's 'Lamb of God.' With just a few weeks having passed from 'The Garden' concerts, we were given a new score - one with music that would be a challenge.

After three vocal and narration auditions across the UK, 50 singers joined the choir. An orchestra of 40 musicians was gathered to rehearse in Watford.

We held three concerts over a very special Easter weekend. The BSSCO were also invited to produce two encore performances with the choir. It was an incredible and moving event.

'Lamb of God'
Town Hall, Birmingham, May 30, 2015

Our latest project was a repeat of 2014, but on a much larger scale. We performed 'Lamb of God' again, in Birmingham's historic Town Hall.

Over 140 musicians and singers joined the BSSCO in our largest production yet, performing to over 1400 people.

One attendee wrote "'That performance was simply phenomenal. From the very first piece (almost the very first note!) the Spirit bore witness to me of the divinity of the message."

We loved performing 'Lamb of God' and are excited to see what is in store in the future.

"Dad in his testimony today spoke of how at the Lamb of God it was as if he was observing events of the Saviour's life play out. The witness borne increased hope."
